Antoine Blanchard (1910 - 1988)

The great artist, Antoine Blanchard, was born in a small village near Blois in 1910 and died in 1988. From an early age, his parents saw his potential as an artist and entered him in an art school in Blois. The family subsequently moved to Rennes so Antoine could study at the Beaux-Arts Academy. After that, in 1932, Blanchard moved to Paris to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
In the following years, like Cortes, Blanchard developed a strong interest in painting the streets of Paris in the turn of the century environment. Although his subject matter was like Cortes, his style was very much his own, with a lighter palette and different brushstrokes. The resulting beautiful canvases gained worldwide demand, which increaes to this day.
